Our client is seeking a candidate experienced within the municipal, utility, and private sector areas and employment experience to include civil engineering consulting.
You will be the Zoning Officer for various municipalities therefore prior employment must include municipality engineering consulting responsibilities. Other responsibilities will include: subdivision/land development review and design for residential, commercial and industrial projects; zoning and development impact analysis. Expert testimony for zoning, land development, facility siting and environmental issues. Preparation of PennVEST, RUS, CDNR and CDBG funding applications for sewer and water facilities, recreation planning and other municipal improvements. Specialization in management, site selection and facility planning studies, environmental assessments program development, project management. Environmental and Community Impact Assessments.
Certifications: AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners)
Must have solid experience within Project Management, comprehensive planning studies to include plan updates, zoning ordinance updates, SALDO updates, Act 537 Sewage Facilities Plans, recreational planning, miscellaneous ordinances as stand-alone or zoning amendments for municipalities covering mini-cell towers, landscaping, agricultural preservation, steep slopes, lighting, outdoor furnace, age restricted residential developments, wind power generation, weed control, junkyards, solid waste facilities and rental inspections and more.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold Green Card status.
Design and engineer solutions that bring our client’s visions to life! Prepare presentation materials and other documents, calculations, specifications, and design analysis for varying projects. Must be able to lead teams on multiple projects, provide adequate management and technical leadership and support to all team members.
Oversee the design activities of junior engineers and designers to ensure quality controls and project criteria are met and within budget as well as completed on time.
Ares of responsibility may include facility design for construction of complex processes including food and beverage facilities, HVAC systems, Plumbing or Fire Protection Systems. Your knowledge will include an understanding of whole plant systems including electric and pumps as well as the other mechanical design and engineering scope of project. We are seeking someone who knows how to design it, build it, and make it operational.
The candidate will have technical, engineering and project responsibilities including planning, design and oversight of projects focused within a specific area of civil engineering: roads, parking areas, culverts, stormwater management facilities, water and sewage systems to name a few. Technical and feasibility studies, preparation of applications, calculations, reports and studies for presentation and compliance with local, county and state requirements. Project scope and budgets, serving as the technical point of contact with clients for specific projects, collaborating with other team members to be sure all projects are completed within budget and allotted time. Identifying and communicating project risks; ensuring deliverables meet project technical objectives, prepare project reviews and reports, summarizing project outcomes and impacts.
Create/prepare electronic design plans for civil engineering projects including:
* roads, parking lots
* water / wastewater - sewage control systems
* stormwater management
* Grading and drainage
* Land Development
AutoCAD experienced within the area of Civil Engineering design and drafting
Assist design team, engineers, and other team members in preparation of reports, plans or other submittals
Obtain project information from other disciplines and incorporate into projects
Propose solutions or alternatives when required
May work with architects, surveyors, and contractors
Strong organizational, technical and communication skills
Ability to work independently or within a team environment
Demonstrate effective time management skills
Accurate and detail oriented drawings
This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Some work will be performed in Schuylkill County.
Candidate will be required to show experience within a multi-discipline residential and commercial inspections field. Keys to being successful in this position include: Candidate’s ability to perform plans examination, structure, and project inspections; attend meetings with contractors, builders and property owners with superb representation or our client as well as progressive meeting outcomes; Candidate will issue permits, enforce code and maintain accurate documentation.
Our client prefers certifications: PaUCC Residential Building and PaUCC Commercial Construction or must have a high interest in obtaining these certifications. A valid PA Driver’s license with good driving record is required.
The candidate will consult and collaborate with other project managers and clients to determine how to meet project goals; manage and perform engineering design tasks; perform engineering calculations and evaluations; prepare reports; perform feasibility studies; and develop engineering plans and specifications.
