Work with students who have learning, mental, emotional or physical disabilities. Adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects to students with disabilities. Teach basic life skills.
Candidate must be able to identify individual needs and write IEP's, write lesson plans and create an inspiring and supportive learning environment.
An ability to communicate with other team members and student's families is highly important.
Teach a small group of students, assess students' work done in class, develop and adapt individual teaching methods suitable for each student.
Work within and provide a productive and safe classroom environment. Teacher's aides working alongside you each day.
Preferred teaching degree with a special education certification. Candidates with similar degrees including other Education, Social Services, Psychology or other with the desire to obtain a Special Education certification will also be considered .
Tuition assistance available for Instructional II or Master's degree
Pre-Employment Screenings include: Criminal History Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance, Mandated Reporting Certificate
Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Monday - Friday part time, 29 hours / week during the school year which runs the end of August to June with optional limited summer work.
Daily activities may include promoting confidence and opportunities to maintain and develop new skills. Activities and learning plans will be focused on each student's abilities, goals, and interests. Primary, intermediate and secondary classrooms.
Daily activity and learning programs will help each student gain general life, math, and reading skills, provide an inclusive community, and help educate each student to his/her abilities.
